The Hays House Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the daily life of a well-to-do family during the Federal period of American history (approximately 1788-1825) in a house that still retains much of its earliest architecture and materials. That life is enormously interesting and important, having taken place during the birth of the United States.
Throughout the year, the Hays House is the scene of many special events with unique themes, such as Grandma’s Apron, the annual Ice Cream Social, Children’s Fun day, and house concerts.
Be sure to reserve your place early for our annual sellout Christmas Tea and Concert!
Visit our calendar for dates and details.
The Hays House is a small museum with a large vision for the future. For the present, our hope is to give our visitors a personally relevant, worthwhile experience, and the desire to return again and again.
All Hays House Museum Special Events are sponsored by the Historical Society of Harford County, Inc., and are made possible in part by a grant from the Maryland Council for the Arts through the Harford County Cultural Arts Board and Harford County Government.
